To Familiarize married couples with God's design for marriage according to the Holy Scriptures.

New classes to be established in the future as the need arises.


All teachers are expected to attend at least three (3) teachers meeting a month. Additionally, teachers are to be prepared to teach their perspective classes every Sunday morning. In the event that a teacher will be absent, it is their responsibility to find a replacement for their class from a list of approved substitute

This ministry is used as a tool to teach children ages 3 to 10 the bible during the sermon time in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of each month.

Ministries

A.     Nursery     Director-Vivian Austin

The Nursery ministry is provided to temporarily release parents and caretakers of childcare responsibilities, so that they can participate fully in worship activities.  Workers the ratio is 1 staff to ---- ages infant to 3. All parents with children in the nursery are asked to work a minimum of one Sunday per month. All parents are asked to bring the supplies that are needed by your child while in the nursery.

B.     Children's Choir     Director-Mrs. Mechelle Wilder

Children are to be at least 4 years old before they are eligible to join the choir. All Parents are invited to attend rehearsals on Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m.

Youth Choir begins at age 9. There is not an age limit for this choir. The Youth Choir met on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m.

E.     Bessie R. Jones Choir

The Bessie R. Jones Choir meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. All individuals are required to audition, prior to joining the music ministry.

F.     Usher Boards

The primary duty of an usher is to assist in maintaining order in the worship service. Each Usher Board is to meet the week prior to their Sunday of service

The Men's fellowship is designed to provide fellowship and ministry for the men of the church and the community.

The purpose is to unite the believers in Christ in a progressive enterprise, and to encourage a regular participation in the Missionary Program of the Baptist, District, State, National, International or World-wide Missions.

To train believers in systematic Bible Study, daily prayer, Mission study and definite personal service.

Christ's last commandment to His disciples was “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. When we keep His commandments we show love for him and our fellowman.
The Matrons are young women in the Missionary Society who are responsive for working harmoniously with experienced adults in expanding a vast Missionary Program for the purpose of Mission and Education.

The future of the Church depends upon properly trained Christians who are willing to put into practice Christian examples of living. Christians who are willing to teach their children to grow as Jesus grew: In statue, in wisdom, in service, and in favor with God and Man.

I.     Benevolence

This ministry seeks to meet the physical needs of those in our church family and community. To provide temporary relief for the poor, afflicted and distressed.  The contact person for this ministry is Rev. Beverly Laster, Barbara Hightower and Veronica Jackson.

Financial Hardship: All request for financial assistance are handled through the Benevolence ministry. Members must complete a Request for Financial Assistance Form. The committee reviews requests and the member is notified of the committee's decision.  It must be clearly understood that the church is not a loan institution. All cases must be hardships beyond the control of the individual.

J.     Repast Ministry

This ministry will provide dinner at the church for the family of a deceased church member only, on the day of the funeral. This ministry will also prepare food and serve for other approved church functions.
All members are encouraged to plan all funeral services with the Pastor.

K.     Tape Ministry

This ministry is responsible for making the tapes from each Church service. The contact person is Anderson Jackson. Tapes from the sermons only are to be secured from the Pastor.

L.     Recreation

Softball -The Softball practices and plays in the spring of every year. The team is made up of male and females. The contact persons are Jesse Long,  Merritt Stoves & Micah Chestnut, Coaches. Basketball-Ralph Springer & Micah Chestnut

M.     Tutorial Programs

This ministry is designed to offer educational assistance for the children of the church and community. The contact persons are  Mae Sanders, Malva Barnett, & Renee Herndon  

N.     Exit Examination Review

This ministry is designed to prepare high school students to take the high school exit examination. The contact person is Sharon Barkley.

O.     Boy Scouts

The purpose of this ministry is to teach young boys survival skills. The contact persons are Cecil Copeland and Beverly Laster.


P.     Intercessory Prayer Team

This ministry meets on Monday nights. Their purpose is to present prayer request to the Lord.

Q.     Hospital/Home Visitation Committee

The Visitation Committee is made up of the Deacon Board.

Hospital/Home Visits: In the event a Church member is ill they will be visited or contacted by a member of the Deacon Board of the Church. In addition, visit the membership on a yearly basis.

R.      Altar Workers

The exact function of this auxiliary is to assist the Pastor in leading lost souls to Christ during the Altar Call portion of the service.

When the appeal is made for persons desiring to be saved or special prayer, and filled with the Holy Spirit, personal workers join the Pastor at the Altar then lead individuals to a separate for their needs to be met.

S.     Progressive Choir                 Musician-Mrs. Mechelle Wilder

This choir is made up of church members. Its function is to lead the church in the worship service. The choir meets on a weekly basis.

T.  Counseling Center
The Counseling Center is available to all church members. Appointments are be made in the church office or with the counselors. Marriage and general counseling is available to our church family.  

U.  Van Ministry
The Van Ministry transports church and community citizens to functions, Drivers: Merritt Stoves, Reverend Jesse Long, and Micah Chestnut.
